You will get individual attention to your site. I do it all: the design and layout, graphics (custom or editing client-provided images), HTML and CSS coding, uploading and maintaining the site (making changes as necessary), and the SEO, and much more ... you just provide the content.
You see, to get the quality design, personal attention, and low cost that Rancho Mondo provides, I need to make my clients do some of the work on their site. The client has to provide the content.
After all, you know your business and interests far better than I ever will. I can and will help with the text (editing, spell checking, proof-reading) and graphics, and make suggestions for topics, etc.; but you need to provide the content -- the meat and potatoes of what your site is (be it a service, a product, an idea, whatever).
If you already have some common business items, such as: business card, logo, stationery, invoices, receipts, brochures; a color scheme (or favorites), typeface preferences, branding of any sort -- we will most definitely use them. I have a flatbed scanner and I recognize the need to scan in material for your site. As such, I don't place any limits on the number of items to scan, or charge any per scan rate (well, if kept within reason).
The client needs to supply all photos used on the site. I prefer that these are provided as digital files (generally on a CD that is mailed to me), however I am able to scan your photos.
The client needs to supply most of the links they want to offsite. I'll suggest some, but research is extra.
I'm good at graphics: the graphics used on the site (either custom-made, or editing client-provided images), design and layout, color, fonts, etc. And, just as importantly, I'm good at presenting information. Making it easy for the visitor to find and use the information you provide me to present to the world.
Your site will have plentiful and easy-to-use navigation. It will be easy to get to any page on your site and back, or over to any other page.
I know the language of the web ... HTML and CSS ... fairly well (still, I am constantly learning and expanding my knowledge, as the Internet is a new and constantly changing field). I do not use any slick WYSIWYG editors (they are facile and over-burden the code, making adjustments or repairs difficult), and do a great deal of the coding by hand. As you can see from the Rancho Mondo site (and my other sites), I can incorporate Java applets and JavaScript, and can generally implement CGI scripts for a site. If you have a specific need that I cannot address, I'll let you know.
All graphics are optimized for fast downloads (without visibly sacrificing image quality). HTML code validation is performed on each page. Of course, each page is proof-read and spell checked. I work closely with the client to provide meaningful and useful META tags (for good titles, descriptions, and keywords -- most important to search engines).
Search engine optimization is part of the continual SEO and maintenance which I do for all of my clients. I do not believe in designing a site and then walking away from it. A successful website must be continually maintained, nourished, and promoted. Beyond this continuous SEO effort, my knowledge of SEO is incorporated into the very bones and structure of each website I design and build.
