Rancho Mondo

		This is just a test to see if the new install of my HTML editor of choice (AceHTML 5 Pro) is functioning properly before I commit my client sites to it. Well, there's lots of news since this page was last updated over a year ago. I suppose the biggest change is that I no longer build cabinets or seek shop work. I suffered a couple of relatively mild heart attacks (a mild one is any which don't kill you — mine were garden-variety myocardial infarctions), and I can no longer undertake the physical aspect of shop work. If you have any interest, you can check out a few pages I put together concerning a benefit which some friends of mine held to help me with the expenses resulting from my heart event. (You'll have to use your browsers "Back" button to return to the Rancho Mondo website, as I made this an independent section to serve other purposes.)
		Luckily I have a few other skills to fall back on, and so can continue to make a living from another endeavor. My primary business is now Rancho Mondo Web Design. I undertake to design, build, optimize, and promote websites for selected clients. You will find links to many of the sites I have designed and built in the web design section of this site. Business has been very good, and I am approaching the limit of clients which I can satisfactorily maintain.
		I finally decided it was time to build my own computer, as I was not satisfied with any commercial off-the-shelf units available, and figured I could do as well as any of the build-it-for-you guys. If you have any interest, check out the computer I built, the Superalien (named for the killer all-aluminum case) page for pics and info. (You'll have to use your browsers "Back" button to return to the Rancho Mondo website, as I made this an independent page in order to serve other purposes.)

Current status of rancho mondo pages:

homepage -- now has a search form. You can search the entire site for any word.
miscellaneous -- updated ; added two more games, a 3D maze and a Breakout clone. Check them out! And added two more midis (and you can now download the entire midi collection in one zip file). Added a calculator section for your use. Added a new "paint your masterpiece" page.
art gallery -- updated ; finally put some text in to go with the pics. Be sure and check the Java effect on the "Bigeye" page.
cabinets -- I decided to leave this section of the site in (at least for now) because it still attracts a number of visitors which seem to find some usefulness from the contents.
web design -- updated ; finally have this section done. Let Rancho Mondo design a web site for you.
computer basics -- updated ; well, I've at least started this section, with a discussion of viruses and how to protect yourself.
compost -- updated ; a more pleasant presentation.
gourds -- updated ; There are a few more new gourd photos.
back pages -- The current info has a better presentation. But I still need to consolidate, add new material, and refine this section.
contact -- done; you can get in touch with us now ... no excuses.
links -- not even close, but I do have the old site links listed. I need to organize them, edit them, and check them all out; once again, it will be worth the wait ... the essential links for over two dozen categories!

There have been numerous small changes made to almost every page on the site. Every page now has full site navigation buttons. There is more music available (see the button below, and the midi downloads from the misc. page), and all pages with embedded music now have a small control panel so you can shut it off if you like.

			Here's a small selection of my favorite midi music files that I have collected from many searches on the net. You can have music playing in the background as you surf the rancho mondo site. Note that this will override any music embedded on the page. Note also that you will open up a separate application window, from which you can control play.
