A note about prices: Exceptional handmade furniture in wood is, arguably, the most labor intensive of all the fine crafts. A large, thoughtfully detailed case piece, with multiple doors and drawers can take several months to produce and leave viewers of the finished project truly dazzled. Extending dining tables, hand sculpted chairs, king size beds, all, take many hours of concentrated physical and emotional effort to become realities and can only be created by a skilled craftsman who has made a substantial investment in training and tools. Unlike fine art, which is often priced according to the artist's reputation or "what the market will bear", the price of my furniture is a direct reflection of the time involved in producing it. Although my pieces are more expensive than manufactured furniture, they represent a sound investment, not only as durable, functional objects, but also as rare examples of original design and fine craftsmanship in an age of mass production and discard. I welcome your sincere inquiries. |
