Three Insects
|
These three small (3"-5" in length) Hopi Rattle and dipper gourds are representing The Giant Magic Red Dragonfly, the predaceous Window Fly, and the ever popular Brazilian Red Fire Ant. They are made to be able to be hung up and are hand-painted with various acrylic paints. Some employ a process whereby some pigment is scratched off to reveal designs. Upon completion, all gourds are given a seal coat, then finished with a lacquer to give a durable finish.
These gourds have the seeds in them, and make excellent rattles. They are sturdy, however are not toys, and should not be given to unsupervised children.
