knotty pine pantry
As an interesting aside, knotty pine was one of the woods used in the making of the very first plywoods. It was very popular as a material, and was abundant and relatively low cost. Imagine my surprise, when pricing this project, to discover that knotty pine plywood is not used much at all today, and as a result is a special-order item that costs more than oak or walnut plywood. Supply and demand in action.
The older hardware, surface-mounted hammered-copper finish hinges and pulls, is also getting harder to find. Such are the problems of remodeling and matching older materials, which are often hard to find, or non-existent.
